It was definitely not a day for perfect fluent passing or sprinting the length of the pitch, or out gassing the oppo down the wings but for 100% effort, work rate and grinding out a result.

A much changed team from last week but still 100% commitment. We managed to welcome back several girls from injury breaks and Bracknell had a much stronger team out with the return of several of their DPP players. A hard fought opening while the two teams got use to the conditions, mud covered ball and treacle under foot.

The match boiled down to the work rate of the two packs. Farnham's back row managed to make life difficult for Bracknell all day and the front rows welcomed scrum practice with the inevitable knock ons. With the great platform set by the Farnham forwards the backs had their chances to shine when the ball made it out to the wings. With tries from Full Back Ettie Hardcastle, wingers Orla Warren and Amy Roy backing up tries from No8 Neve Dawson and Flanker Ellie Brooker. Farnham managed to get a lead and keep far enough ahead as a spirited Bracknell fought really hard in the second period getting close enough to start nervous murmurings on the side lines.

It wasn't a day for the kickers but Heidi and Issie did their best and kept us just far enough in front as the clock ran down. But there was one last twist to seal the victory, Honour Matthews (prop) new to the squad this year, growing in confidence every match carried several times in a fantastic drive. And finally she found the way through and had the cool head to take it under the posts for our final try of the match putting us 8 points ahead with only a couple of minutes left on the clock which the girls duly held onto.
