A great day for Farnham U7’s Rugby Club, where the A and B teams were both victorious at the Camberley Festival.

As
The U7 A Team, started the Festival with a close match against Guildford, which they won 5-4. That set the tone for the day, for a series of tense matches, for both players and spectators. They followed up their win against Guildford with a 4-2 Victory against Cobham and a 7-6 victory against Camberley. A close match against Chobham, saw the team lose 5-6, meaning the final game of the day would determine if they would win the cup. Farnham were playing Wimbledon, who had played exceptionally well in previous matches, which meant a close game was expected.

Farnham made a perfect start and soon opened up a 4-1 lead in the first half. This calmed the players nerves and eventually they won 8-4 in a game which showed off all their talents, with some great defence, a very high skill level and great team work. During the Festival all 10 players scored tries, which demonstrates the strength of the entire squad.

The Players for Farnham U7 and try scorers were as follows: Tess Adlam (1), Reuben Anthony (2), Austin Bradshaw (1), Tom Dickin (1), Josh Grinsted (3), Tom Humphreys (8), Conor Le Brun (2), Luke McGinn (1), Matthew Outlaw (1) and Stanley Platt (9)

Bs

Farnham U7 B Squad played 5 thrilling matches to secure a second Festival victory in a row at Camberley on Sunday 11th March having also won the recent festival at the Guildford Rugby club 2 weeks previously.

The courageous Farnham B's exhibited great teamwork to find space throughout the day drawing with Guildford 4-4 in the first match of the Camberley Festival and then winning the next three games against Wimbledon (5-4), Cobham (6-1), Camberley (5-4) drawing 4-4 against Chobham in the final game of the day. The players were James Purnell (1 try), Jamie Lloyd-Mostyn (5), Oliver Waghorn (1), Rudi Orthmann (3), Angus Watson (1), Oliver Buckton (1), Jack Fontaine (2), Sebastian Sturge, Ned Brooker, Thomas Jolley (4) and John-Henry Hill (6). All players piled the pressure on their opponents with excellent tagging, great running and fantastic ball handling.
