Farnham U14 As opened their newly titled Round Robin League campaign with an away trip to Cranleigh. With 10 A Team regulars missing through injury and school commitments it was likely to be a tricky fixture so early in the season.
However, debutants Toby Richards and Ollie Wingfield along with B Team stalwarts Jake Kimberley and Mattie Hodson all stepped up to the mark in a superb and well deserved 29-12 victory.
Tom Garner, new to Farnham this season, scored 2 tries and George Guy scored another with a typical sniping run. Finlay Anderson had an impressive first start at 10, scoring the other 2 tries along with 2 conversions. But man of the match went to Josh Smith who added some barnstorming runs to his usual strong scrummaging.
A good win which really emphasised the strength in depth in the U14 squad this season. This will be tested next Sunday with an A fixture against Camberley at home and the B's away to Old Cats.
