A relatively benign weather forecast from Friday transformed itself to heavy rain in the early hours of Sunday and the cancellation duly followed.
We were delighted to see that so many of the boys came anyway to the classroom session that we held instead at the club and those who did were rewarded with a 30 minute talk and question / answer session with Ryan Wilson.
A quick visit to the Glasgow Warriors website will show you that Ryan is a former pupil at Frensham Heights and Lord Wandsworth College but what it doesn’t add that he is also a former player at Farnham Rugby club! Aged 22, Ryan is now a full time professional player with the Glasgow Warriors and has already represented Scotland at U19, U20 and Scotland A’s – we trust it won’t be long before he gets a full Scotland cap. He was able to give the boys some fascinating insights into the game at the higher levels and also the path that he had to tread to get there. We are very grateful to Ryan for giving us his time and wish him a successful season at all levels.
The session was finished with a review of some of the photos taken in recent games highlighting the good (and some of the not so good!) technique being employed. The boys paid good attention and were able to identify key points from the photos themselves. We are looking forward to seeing them put this into action in their next games.
