Farnham 2's meted out summary justice to an ill-tempered Vandals side who could offer little more than punches, elbows and knee-drops as a rampant Hornets back line sliced through their porous defence time after time, amassing a hatful of tries, 9 in all, against the frankly dispirited visitors.
Standout performances from Jim Hyman at 8, Connor Rumpson at 12 and Gareth Yeomans at 1 set the tone for a match filled with rampaging go-forward leading to the right to go wide for a slick back division who never looked less than threatening. Old campaigner Andy James conducted the orchestra masterfully from fly-half, drawing defenders before neatly delivering beautifully-weighted passes to his young charges just shy of the advantage line. The groundwork for all this front-foot ball was laid by a gritty pack, led by a fired-up Dan Ross who played like a man possessed, ably supported by Ralph Phillips & Joe Major at the breakdown.
Vandals only return from the match was a single penalty, whilst receiving two yellow cards for their pugilism. Never was a side more aptly named.
Tries were scored by Anderson, James, Rumpson, Major & Hyman.
