At last the the frustrations of the past four weeks were cast aside

At last the the frustrations of the past four weeks were cast aside as Farnham racked up a 41-3 bonus point win against fellow mid tablers OMW on Saturday.
After a superb Christmas Lunch prepared by club chef Pete Knight and served by the under 15 waiters for the day the faithful took their places on the balcony for the main course.
Farnham had reshuffled the pack again with Ian Williams and Ben Adams restored to the second row and last week's back row of Bond, Dan Williams and Comley given another chance to rampage.
A breeze blew into the Farnham faces as OMW kicked off with the advantage, driving out from the 22 through the forwards, Farnham's progress was called back by the referee and a confident kick from halfway gave the visitors an early lead, their only contribution to the scoreboard for the afternoon.
Farnham were in a festive, hungry mood and went looking for their first points. Skipper Mike imperious confident form, a sweeping break from full back - hard to stop at 6'2" and near 15 stone on the charge 40-50 yards on the break and then offload to No 8 Dan Williams on the charge, the line beckons - off load to Bond and on to Comley - try in the corner. 5-3.
More power from Farnham the last few weeks of poor decisions forgotten, the scrum is turning the screw and with Bond and the Williams orchestrating the driving mauls Farnham are making the hard yards. A surge into the 22 and Oli Brown at scrum half spots the gap, sniping run and inside to the ubiquitous Comley - try. 10-3.
The wind continues to swirl and OMWs are under the cosh. Penalised at the maul and a huge kick from the boot of Mike Salmon. Lineout and another drive for the line held, but unstoppable at the resulting scrum. Pushover try for Dan Williams 17-3.
The visitors gather under the posts - strong words and the result a series of multi phase attacks - Farnham do not wobble and absorb and reorganise, Bond in Steffon Armitage mode is waiting to pounce. A forward drive and the turnover comes, bridge strong, hands on the ball - the attack fizzles out, the line is cleared. Half time.
Now the wind advantage and the wise words of coaches Matt Kemp and Jamie Salmon, play in the opposition half and put them under pressure. Deep kicks to the corners and a series of driving mauls, held but from broken play, Mike Salmon, playing with much greater confidence, spots a gap to wide with Corlett and Jemi Akin-Olugbade on hand the skipper spots his chance and brushes the defence aside for a superb individual try from 60metres out. 22-3
OMWs are stung into action and force a series of long range attacks prompted by their Flyhalf and rumbustious second row, again held, regroup and attack - swatted the Farnham defence holds and breaks out down the left through winger Luke Jermyn inside to Corlett and on by Elliott Rich, veteran Jemi through a confused defence and under the posts Farnham are rampant. Easy extras for Salmon.M. 29.3.
The visitors are starting to wilt, the front row of Naisbitt, Jennings and Joris have put down a marker and the Farnham pack are literally snapping forward like a well tuned rowing 8.
A succession of penalties to the visitors 5 metre line and Farnham call for a scrum - snap drive and Dan Williams over for his brace. 36-3 with more points for Mike Salmon's trusty boot.
Icing on the cake as back come Farnham another smash through the centre by the back on form Corlett and Flyhalf Toby Salmon in and out to dot down his 10th try of the season.
A tremendous team effort and the award of the podium points a nightmare, particularly with eight judges. At last this was real team performance from the starting XV through to the replacements, Trodden, Meagher and Markham all coming to the party.

The podium difficult with 8 judges:
Kempy, Jamie Salmon,Paul Bettin, Geoff Robins, Grizz Adams, Richard Brackstone, Franco and me - therefore 48 votes - the result:
Ian Williams 3
Jemi 2
Oli Brown 1
A great game - all of the front row dominated. Ben Adams and Ian Williams in the row and Buster, Dan Williams and Toby Comley break aways all scrapping and scrummaging well.
Enjoyed all of it - Oli and Toby Salmon at halfback and Corlett and Jemi at centre.
Mike Salmon growing into the captaincy and two young wingers Elliott and Luke !!
Merry Christmas to all at Farnham RUFC.
