Cranleigh H4H Touch Festivals
Fun in the Sun
On a lovely sunny day in Cranleigh Farnham Saxons turned up to support the Help For Heroes Charity Day at Cranleigh Rugby Club in a friendly and social festival of touch. James wins the prize for best outfit whilst Tilly definitely has gone for overkill with her outfit. With our youngsters providing the gas in the team it was lovely to remember how us oldies once could outpace a snail, but this didn't stop us putting 4 tries past the Jungle Massive in our first game. They seemed quite irritated with Polly giving them helpful tips. " We play for SE" they retorted, Tilly not so sure but the old gits distracted them whilst Archie, Tom and Callum used their pace to great effect to win 4-1. Cranleigh are always a fun team play and so was the next game as we put seven on the score board with Jodi catching the size 10 ball brilliantly as we won 7-4. On to OGs, our friendly rivals who with a smile on their faces reminded us why we are the pupils and they the teachers, though the 4-7 loss didn't do us justice. Then an interesting game against Superheroes with their Fijian international, where both teams were playing to different rules and the referee trying to match the two together, this made for an interesting game to say the least. And so to our last game against OGs. This game would have graced any pitch as Saxons proved just how far they have come since starting the club by leading four times but ultimately OGs know how and cunning squeaked a winning try in the dying minutes, 5-4. A fab day of fun sport, thanks Cranleigh for hosting, see you at the next one.
