Business end of the season began for the Girls section. Waterfall cup fixtures started with a reversed match against Guildfordians @ Stoke Park.
The pitches were claggy, tiring and the girls had the uphill to start with. However that did not stop them producing a blistering performance from the whistle. Tries were coming regularly and with forward dominance, a back row stealing balls regularly, scrum pressure and good handling in the most part the girls began the second half of the season really well.
Thanks to Suzanne Filer for the photos (as I threw the camera at her :) )
Lara Staton was voted player of the match by Guildfordians - well deserved! Especially considering she played in multiple positions popping up all over the backs line.
I would add special mentions:
Poppy Filer for outstanding, powerful running resulting in 2 tries along with,
Sophie Cook who's relentless work rate on the Flank meant Guildfordians rarely got any opportunity to settle into any kind of rhythm.
We look forward to Rd2 in a couple of weeks and all will be praying for drier conditions to get a match or 2 at home.
