Farnham U16 Girls produced a battling display in their latest Surrey Cup clash at Old Reigatians but ultimately came off second best with the hosts claiming a 36-24 victory.
Despite a late enforced re-shuffle, Farnham began brightly and posed their unbeaten rivals plenty of questions throughout a fiercely contested first half.
That endeavour was rewarded with tries for Lara S, Molly W and Maisie W with Eva J slotting two conversions that propelled Farnham into a 19-12 lead at the break.
Old Reigatians stormed back into the contest after the break and turned the game on its head despite a brave rearguard effort from Farnham who at least had the last say in the game with Molly W crossing for the final score of the game.
Molly W claimed the Farnham player of the match honour, chosen by Old Reigatians, with Lucie D claiming the Farnham coaches' award.
