We took a strong team up the A3 to play the cluster of Sutton&Epsom/Ironsides/OldRuts. Having played them in a friendly a few weeks ago we knew what to expect, but the weather was somewhat different....
Thankfully conditions were the same for both sides and Farnham girls came through the challenging test the stronger. 3 tries in each half meant Farnham had a comfortable win. Again it wasn't easy but the girls stuck to the job in hand, defending heroically, only to concede one score following a spate of what can only be described as interesting decisions.
It was never going to be a day for the back three although 5 of our 6 tries came through the centres and back three, so even with the soapy ball, the desire to move the ball was still the way the girls wanted to play. Truth be told, if conditions were less wet and windy there were over half a dozen additional opportunities that 'slipped' away with the final pass / catch going to ground.
Needless to say the ability to earn the right to play out wide only comes from the effort of a pack. All the pack put in a shift, carrying hard, supporting each other and creating a wall in defense.

POM voted by oppo: Poppy Filer (Loose Head - strongest match of the season so far)
Coaches special mention: Phoebe Sweales - handling in such difficult conditions playing at either 10 or 13 moved the ball effectively all game!
