On a gorgeous autumnal afternoon the Surrey Cup began for Farnham girls. Sadly numbers from the oppo tumbled regularly throughout the week but we played out a really closely fought contest. Farnham lent the Cluster 3 players each half to ensure a 15-a-side match could be played, ensuring all the girls got a good run out.
Conditions as they were, meant the packs got to practice scrummaging! And then some! With neither team able to implement a structured game plan. The match was played out as a chaotic scramble in between handling errors. Farnham's direct running forwards the dominant carriers. CobDorkFordians tackling and rucking tested over and over proving a strong formidable wall.
CobDorkFordians hands through the backs gelled much better than Farnham's so on reflection it created a very close, nail biting game trading try for try and the lead swapping several times. The final outcome was a try for CobDorkFordians in the last minute sealing a draw which was a very fair result from two teams who gave their all in difficult conditions.
A huge thanks to Magnus and Jim for their reffing relay. Hope the calf is feeling better very soon Magnus.
