The U7s enjoyed a good day at Reeds Weybridge C festival on Sunday 17th, bringing home a trophy for the cabinet!

Team 1: Ethan Davey, Lewis Redman, Charlie Jenkins, Daniel Cassidy, Daniel Irvine, Ben Marshall

The boys got off to a slow start but still enjoyed some success with the ball with Ben, Lewis and Ethan among the tries. The tit-for-tat exchange continued in the second half with Daniel Cassidy proving particularly elusive. The score in the end 9-8 to Reeds.

A much-improved display in the second clash with Chobham, with tries from Lewis and Charlie putting Farnham in control before Chobham rallied in the second half - but further tries from Lewis and Ben ensured an 8-6 win.

Full of confidence, the boys kicked on in their third game against Guildford. Daniel Cassidy and Ethan led the way with first half tries while some excellent defensive work limited Guildford's opportunities. Daniel Cassidy inflicted further woe in the second half with Charlie and Ben setting the seal on a 10-6 victory.

Unfortunately they were unable to sustain that effort against a well-drilled Rosslyn Park side in their final game. In a bruising encounter, tries from Daniel Irvine, Ben, Ethan and Lewis ensured we were level at the break but some strong running saw Rosslyn Park take the game in the second period.

Two wins and two losses but a great effort from the boys who all contributed in defence and attack.

Team 2: Edward Lumb, Thomas Worsley, Dominic Rolt, Oliver Sneath, Oliver Hinshelwood, Freddie Pocock

The opening match of the pool saw Farnham breeze past Guildford with an emphatic 10-7 victory, some great attacking play from all the boys with strong, hard running.

Farnham then took on the home team Reeds. A great effort saw the boys pull back a couple of late tries with Dominc Rolt scoring off the last play to secure a well earned draw.

Next up it was against perennial favourites Rosslyn Park, who took an early lead with a few well worked tries. The boys stuck at the task and finished with a flourish to end up 8-6 down at the final whistle.

The final match of the day saw the Farnham boys dish it out to Chobham, some improved tagging and a return to strong running made for a great final game, all boys contributing in attack and finishing the day with smiles all round after an 8-6 victory.

Two wins, a draw and a loss to eventual winners Rosslyn Park.

A great day all round, with a trophy to take home.
