Farnham U7 Pumas at Cobham A Festival

The first match against Teddington came as a bit of a shock to the team, mainly due to the situation, atmosphere and the size of the pitch! After taking a few minutes to adjust the Pumas managed to run in 3 tries, all of which were unfortunately disallowed. The final score line of 5-0, does not do justice to the kid’s efforts or performance.

The second match against Battersea Ironsides was a really good performance by the whole team. The two Freddie’s and Harvey G all ran in quality tries and it was close going but they and they just edged it in the last couple of minutes due to a bit of defensive lapse. Although we lost 5-3, it was a really good performance by the whole team with plenty of supporting play.

The third match was against the home team Cobham in the bowl semi-final. Cobham had a huge amount of home support, which was a bit daunting for our team. We let in some soft tries from the restart but the 8-1 score does not reflect the Pumas performance. It was without doubt their best team performance with all of them supporting and passing well. The highlight for many in this game was when Katie received the ball from the start at the halfway line and side step her way past the whole opposition team over the try line were, unfortunately her try was disallowed. Harvey got his second try in this match and played well across all three games, for this reason he was awarded player of the week.

We are very proud of the kids (and the parents), they worked really hard. It was clear that they loved every minute of it. At the end even though we had been knocked out they all got medals and went home with big smiles on their faces.
