The all conquering U12 As continued their amazing run of form by winning 1st place at the Redingensians As festival today

Fresh from their amazing victory at the Surrey As Festival last weekend, the U12 As gathered once more with the aim of playing their customary brand of fast flowing rugby. As if to underline the fact that last weekend's stunning victory was not a flash in the pan, the As first game was against Bracknell and what a way to start.

Bracknell once again fielded a side at least as strong as the one we struggled against in an early season friendly but this time Farnham were quick out of the blocks with a score in the first few minutes. A slightly stunned Bracknell soon found themselves 2-0 down but showed their class by running a great try over the line in the dying moments of the first half. Dominic's half time instructions were to stamp our mark on the game early in the second half and Farnham duly obliged to finish the second half deserved 3-1 winners.

The draw then saw the As playing a game against Reading RFC back to back with the first game. With only 2 subs on the bench, a big effort would be required to see a second win on the scoreboard but that's exactly what the boys produced, dispatching a shocked Reading team with style.

After a break to refuel and take on water, the boys were back to take on the mighty hosts, Redingensian Rams. The Rams were a strong and well drilled side and in the first half our boys let their previous success go to their heads a little. They scored first but then stopped playing as a team and started looking for individual scoring opportunities. Predictably this lead to a breakdown in form and a soft try for the Rams which saw them go into half time 1-1. The boys were on the receiving end of a truly Glaswegian dose of reality at half time and came back on determined to stop the glory hunting but the Rams are a strong team and neither side cracked with the second half finishing with no score for a 1-1 draw.

The As last match was to be against Redingensian Titans who played valiantly but were short of form and the game was stopped when the score reached 8-0 to Farnham.

Finishing their pool unbeaten and with a healthy goal difference meant that Farnham finished top of the table and therefore qualified for a 1st vs 2nd playoff vs The mighty Windsor U12 As. Windsor are a top side and at the beginning of the season we'd have struggled to contain them yet this time the Farnham U12 As played some superb rugby to finish the game deserved 2-1 winners.

Winners are definitely Grinners and at the trophy presentation, captain Hamish Watson accepted the silverware graciously presented by our hosts before the team retired for a celebratory Mr Whippy.

The boys take their 9 game unbeaten streak to the London Irish festival next weekend. Do we dare hope for further stonking performances? Who knows but what a way to bring their last Minis season to a close.

Congrats to all involved and thanks must go to hosts Redingensians RFC for a great day.
