Well - What a tour!
What happens on tour, as always, stays on tour so it's edited highlights only but the headline once again is that the U12s did us all proud.
Despite some biblical weather, Weston Supermare RFC managed to get all the age groups playing on Saturday. The U12s had some good spirited encounters in a Seven a Side competition, both between the three remarkably even Farnham sides and against Weston U12s who valiantly fought against some keen opponents.
Then on Saturday night the U12s coaches put on a traditionally based extravaganza of cross dressing with Sam memorably taking the Dolly Parton role, complete with ballooning cleavage.
Saturday night was a gale force torrential affair which left the Brean Sands caravans rocking (or was that just the Guinness talking?) and as the hour sprung forwards to BST an early start to get to Bristol was about as popular as the proverbial fart in a spacesuit. It was such a shame that on arrival at Old Bristolians, sadly the news came that the waterlogged pitches wouldn't allow the planned festival to take place. To give the boys a run out, the U12s hastily arranged a short and muddy internecine match before heading off home or for those with staying power, back to Brean Sands.
The U10s Tour Committee worked tirelessly to make the whole event a massive success. Thanks to them for a truly great weekend.
Next year - Dublin!
