U12Bs triumph at the Reeds Festival

Wow wow wow what an excellent day yesterday for Farnham RUFC U12 B - Reeds festival champions! I will say that again Reeds festival champions.

The whole team showed passion, determination, confidence and played some excellent rugby. The scrum was awesome, rock solid and very very powerful. They won a number against the head and I can't remember them being driven back. The backs were on the move, the ball was been tossed down the line and actually getting to the wings.

Winning our first 2 matches, it became very apparent that our last game was always going to be our crunch game and especially with the "tall" guy. Bringing him down for the first time was a combined effort by two or three boys, but the next tackle on him was a perfectly executed tackle by Sean - low, round the legs and "cheek to cheek", all he could do was take a big tumble, from that point onwards he had a much quieter game and one could see the confidence grow. The old saying "size does not matter" could not have been more fitting.

To cap it all Max K then had the unenviable task of a conversion shoot out as we had tied on points with Teddington. Teddington went first and missed, Max K calmly stood up, placed the ball on the kicking tee and to me what seemed very effortlessly slotted it through the posts, that was it festival winners.
