On a windy afternoon Farnham U14s welcomed Sutton & Epsom to Wilkinson Way for their next league fixture
Straight from the kickoff Farnham made their intent clear by quickly closing down and pressuring the Sutton & Epsom backline. For the first 5 minutes Sutton & Epsom were pinned back on their own try line by some ferocious Farnham tackling. After an initial 5 meter scrummage Farnham looked set to open the scoring, but Sutton & Epsom held up the attack before their breakout was halted by the determine Farnham defence. After winning the ensuing ruck Farnham forced their way over the Sutton & Epsom line to score the opening try with Ben Seymour emerging from under the pile of bodies with the ball. The try was well converted by Samuel Johnston

The next 10 minutes saw aggressive rugby from both sides with very strong tackling. One tackle by Jake Kinberley summed up the games as he put down one of the largest players on the Sutton & Epsom side before the Farnham forwards were quickly into the ruck to win a penalty
The turning point in the first half came when Sutton & Epsom won a scrummage on the Farnham 40m line. As the ball reached the tall centre, Sutton & Epsom finally broke the Farnham line to score a try under the posts

To their credit the Farnham side never gave up in what was a very physical encounter. Good work from Jake Kimberley who ran through the defensive line before off-loading the ball to Oliver Wingfield pressed Sutton & Epsom back. Oliver drove through the scrambling Sutton & Epsom defence unfortunately being stopped just short of the try line. Farnham were not however to be denied as William Mylchreest picked up the ball before diving over the try line for a well deserved score
