U16s End of season awards evening

The U16s celebrated a successful season with a glittering awards evening
Well yet another season is (almost) over and the U16s celebrated this week with the usual Awards Evening.
Our guest of honour was top premiership Referee (and top bloke) Mike Hudson who came to Wilkinson way complete with official RFU blazer to present the evening's awards and to congratulate the U16 boys on a season well played.
We were privileged to have the benefit of Mike's almost supernatural refereeing skills in a local derby cup match vs old rivals Camberley earlier in the season so to have him come down a second time was a great honour. Some top advice to the boys was for them to take a refereeing course - Mike's view was that knowing exactly where the line is drawn would help them become better rugby players and might even show them one or two ways of crossing that line without being caught.
This was an emotional evening for many - with the end of Junior rugby in sight, some boys would out of necessity not be returning to the academy next season but Sam and Dominic were happy to announce the the majority of the 45 boys on the roster this year would be coming back and that the aim was to run two teams in the academy to ensure game time for all. Great news indeed and further evidence if it were needed that Farnham RUFC is in excellent health.
The evening ended with thank-you's all round and with Sunday's friendly sevens tournament aside vs Warlingham, promises to see the majority back on the touchline in September!
