Another great win for the U16's today.

A quiet afternoon at the Club, with no other junior home fixtures, saw Farnham B's (plus a few A's) take on an equally balanced Bracknell side on the first team pitch, with parents and supporters cheering on from the balcony and the score board keeping up with play.
Bracknell started strongly with play in the Farnham 22 and came away with a converted try to lead 0-7. Farnham came back to 5-7 after the forwards took the ball up the pitch and the ball passed through the backs to Joe West who scored in the right hand corner.
The score was to remain like this through the first half, with both sides tackling, rucking and passing effectively. The coaches used their subs to good effect enabling flowing rugby to be played.
The second half began with some strong recycling of the ball by Farnham on the opposition try line and were rewarded with a try by Joe Kite, which when converted by James Brooker took the home side into the lead 12-7. Another period of good rugby by all players led to the Farnham forwards taking the ball over the half way line, Dan Bonnett taking it at scrum half, to James Brooker at number 10 and on to Roger Bleakley on the left wing, who ran in for an impressive try - the score now at 17-7. What followed was a great period of play by all the Farnham players with tackles to win the ball, a premiership-like maul to take the ball into the opposition 22 and Max Hopkins scored after a scrum 5 metres from the try line. At 22-7 a win looked ever more likely. A few tense moments gave a penalty to Bracknell who used a forwards move to give the ball to someone strong and fast enough to run through the defensive line and a converted try took the score to 22-14.
With the last play of the game, the ball was kicked into touch to give Farnham a well deserved victory!
The players, coaches and officials returned from the rain and hail to a well deserved hot meal and can of coke/pint of beer :)
