Featuring a number of new players, both new to the game and those new to the club, the emphasis was on giving match experience to as many as possible.
An early injury to one of just two Farnham props meant that the scrums went uncontested quite early on. Although it was a loss to see Stuart leave the field so early, the game remained fiercely competitive and was a real contest from beginning to end
Farnham ran out 25 -10 winners in the end courtesy of three first half and two second half try’s. The boys from both teams clearly left their kicking boots at home with both sides missing all of their conversions!
Well done to all the boys who took part and a special mention for Walid in his first ever game of rugby (only his second session ever) Two excellent runs with the ball suggest a bright future.
Farnborough were as ever excellent hosts and their team put up a spirited display and, running in two second half tries of their own.
Our thanks to everyone at Farnborough who went the extra mile to make us welcome and we look forward to a rematch later in the season.
