The size of the squad available to skipper Gooooode was both a benifit and a headache,on saturday.

With both the 2nd team and thirds fixtures called off there were plenty of spare players to bolster the vets on saturday , these coupled with most of the regulars available, and some newcomers from the military, meant that there were plenty of fresh legs to replaced tiring players when necessary, but making sure that everyone has sufficient playing time can prove a hard task even for Good skippers.

The first half played with the wind started withsome fine interplay with the back spearheading some fine attacks and within minutes with the ball recycled quickly from a ruck by Parker 15 meters out from the cranleigh line Doran crashed through to set up Harding to score. Further tries were quickly added by Purnell and Goooooooooode.
The late appearance of Baker added some needed bulk to the scrum where the usually imperious vets tight head was failing to move cranleighs Big Ron, whilst Hart on the loose was having a far easier time as usual.
The final Farnham try of the half came from a burst from Ranger who, after getting across the halfway line calculated using the wind and kicking down the field was a better option than using Parker or Turnbull unmarked either side of him, the ball bouncing into touch five meters from the tryline enabled Ranger to praise his quick thinking. From the lineout farnham were able to steel the ball and drove a rolling maul which ended with the tight head crashing over from all of 6 inches.
There was just time from the restart for Farnham to have a characteristic lapse and from a quick penalty the Cranleigh scrum half was able to feed his back row who crashed over.
The second half saw Gooooooooooode make plentiful changes and rest some of his more crucial players. Although with the introduction of Lewis returning from injury and the young Army air corps personnel the backs lost none of the verve they showed in the first half.
A great break involving sticky and the fullback led to a missed opportunity as Paul Hodgson headed the ball just short of the line missing out on becoming arguably the oldest scorer of a try for the vets. Gooooooooooooooooode scored again taking a fine line off Doran to score, after which and using the need to use the final members of the bench he subbed himself to avoid the posibilty of a jug buying third try.
Cranleigh then had there best period of the match and one attack led too an apparently free run for the winger, fortunately for Farnham Matt Parker, another tight head, found a burst of speed downhill and smothered the attack and drove the wing into touch.
Farnham had time for one final try.

Captain Gooooooooooooooooode gave man of the match to Lewis for his second half performance and hoped for a turnout as large for the away match at Dorking next week.
