Farnham Warriors 24 vs Chobham 4th XV 21

This weekend saw Farnham 3rds play against Chobham 4ths. This was to be a top of the table clash with Chobham sitting pretty at the top and Farnham in second place.
Farnham was fielding a large squad however many were new faces to the club. The team bonded together very quickly and started to make good yards. This immediately shook the defence of the Chobham side. However, Chobham as organised as ever re structured very quickly to show Farnham that the afternoon was not going to be an easy one. Soon after the attack from the home side, Chobham took control of the game. Good hands within their backs allowed scores to come from the wing. The conversion was then slotted and Farnham went into half time 8-0 down.

Undeterred by this score line and with a good team talk from Farnham’s birthday boy skipper changes were made to the team. Farnham now had a clear winning attitude about them. The first try came from just outside our own 22, a cutting run from Farnham’s full back Andy Morris showing Cobham we were there to win!, converted by Andrew Mcnair. The next try came from forward nomination then landed straight into the hands of Craig Norris who ploughed his way through Chobhams defence. Farnham’s 3rd try came from the determine to win skipper Vince Wiltshire, conversion was easily pushed through the centre of the posts. The team then had to take a little battering from Chobham’s forwards who punched through the Farnham defence closing down the score line and once again making this a very close game 19-21 to Chobham.
With the clock ticking down Farnham had to react quick, this came from Tom Sibley running the forwards through phases, opening up Chobham’s defence and letting Fit Mick through to close the game 24-21 in Farnham’s favour.......a great Birthday Gift for the Skipper.
