A much changed 2nd team kicked off Super Saturday against local rivals Chobham. Kicking off with the stiff breeze behind them. They came out strong and that was evident at the opening scrum with a huge scrum winning the ball against the head and leading to Sam Woodhams scoring the opener after only a few minutes. The game flowed with some more great running from Toby Simmons and George Bellamy giving the Chobham defence all sorts of problems.
Further tries in the fist half followed from Jack Haylett x 2, Sam Woodhams getting his 2nd, Raoul Larkins, Oli Wingfield and Archie Healey with 8 points from the tee by Ben Douglas.
Chobham did cross the line against the run of play just before the break to trail 43 – 7.
It didn’t let up after the break and more brilliant inter-play between backs and forwards led to some more great scores. Regular rotation led to boys moving all around the pitch with a backline at one point consisting of BT (10), Jemi (12) and George Bellamy (13).
2nd half tries came from Jemi, Toby Simmons (2), Dan O’Keefe, Woodhams completing his hat-trick, George Bellamy, Ben Douglas and Archie Healey. 12 points from Ben Douglas and the highlight for most a 2 pointer from Jeff.
A 95-14 win and just 4 points needed to secure the league title when we welcome Old Reigations at home in 2 weeks time.
