Academy Lose Against Wimbledon A in Second Round of Quins Cup

We dominated the first 15 mins creating holes through the midfield with well executed running lines. Even Olly Lewis showing his snipe & kicking skills! Zach (MoM) adding tempo from #9 - Archie moving the ball well, Malachi making yards at 12 and with Rufus as a 2nd distributor out wide we could release Ben on the Wing & Oli Pye on the inside . It took us by surprise how quickly we scored. Unfortunately the lads switched off and the hosts hit straight back from the kick off.

Wimbledon’s confidence grew as we sat back and they scored 2 more by fly-hacking and chasing the ball down.

We lost our shape and fell off tackles resulting in a number of injuries. Jamie Munroe brought some well needed energy in second half. Having emptied the bench we ended the game with a mixed pack of forwards and backs. Credit to the lads they continued to compete to the final whistle but the damage was done early on.

A bruising encounter and one for the coaches to build momentum & prep the lads to beat Reeds.
