Bright start from our lads right from the off. With sustained pressure in the Irish 22. Will D put us ahead with a snipe from 10 yards out to dab down under the posts, Rufus converted for the full 7 pts. Irish hit back from the kick off and scored to level the game 7-7 after 11 mins.
Irish were next to score with numbers out wide. Closely contested play continued for 15 mins. Our lineout working well with Joe & Sam connecting. Scrum took a while to adjust when we lost Carson from front row. Irish slotted a penalty to make it to make it a 10pt deficit. Rufus continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over adding another 3 points from the tee from a well struck penalty outside the 22. Opposition we allowed through by some defensive errors but we’re unable to convert. Ethan scored just before half time to make it 15-25.

Second half continued with the same intensity. Jacob and Jesse adding muscle up front with Ryan disrupting at 7. Oscar continued to punch holes through the centre from 8, Ben Thompson dancing his way through the 13 channel, Ben D moving from wing into 9 to continue good service. A fabulous kick return from Eddie who ran from our try line to just shy of the halfway. We managed to get into range again for Rufus to slot another penalty as Irish lost discipline and infringed at the break down. With 5 minutes to go and off a driving line out Joe scored to put us 1 point behind. Irish frustration boiled over and they gave away a penalty in range. Sadly the kick was pushed wide - arguably should have been retaken with the noise and commentary from the subs behind the posts but today wasn’t to be and the game ended 23-24 to London Irish.

We wish them well on their continued cup run. A much improved performance from our lads who nilled the opposition in the second half. They showed real desire & celebrated their successes on the pitch as a team.
