As we prepare to kick off, the committee wanted to share an important update regarding this season's membership fees.
After much deliberation, we have agreed to a nominal increase of 7.5% for the 2026/27 season. Subs are now available for purchase on GMS, alongside player registration.
We fully acknowledge that many families are feeling the pinch right now with the rising cost of living. Our goal will always be to keep rugby accessible to everyone. However, as our facilities age, the club’s operational costs are also increasing as are general running costs. In our recently published strategy document, one of our core tenets is ensuring the club remains financially secure so we can continue providing the best possible rugby experience for everyone.
To be clear: we do not rely solely on membership fees to achieve this security. We are actively looking at other ways to generate revenue, and we will always be thoughtful and measured about fee increases. Membership subs are simply one of our vital income streams. While we know a price rise is never welcome news, it is a necessary step to maintain the high standards we all expect at Farnham Rugby Club and to protect our future.
We never want financial circumstances to be a barrier to playing rugby. If you have any affordability concerns, please reach out. Vince Wiltshire our new membership secretary and a trusted club member for over 25 years, is available to listen sensitively and in total confidence to any requests for support.
Remember, we are a community club! The more we use the clubhouse for events, spend money behind the bar, and volunteer our time, the better we can manage our costs; which ultimately keeps membership fees down for everyone.
There is so much to celebrate at our club, with some very exciting news coming your way in the next few weeks. We can’t wait to welcome members old and new for the 2026/27 season.
See you all on the sidelines - and if not there - we’ll see you at the bar!
