We have a newly created position available for a proactive and energetic Farnham Rugby Club House Manager

Since its formation in 1975, Farnham Rugby Club has grown to become Farnham's largest community sports club with over 2,000 members including 850 age grade players, 150 senior men, 70 senior women, and 60 touch rugby players. Each weekend, over 600 boys and girls, and up to five senior men’s teams and two senior women's teams regularly play rugby at our grounds.

The club has facilities capable of hosting parties or events for over 200 people; it has a fully fitted and operational kitchen. It operates one of the largest bars in Farnham and is open 7 dates a week. We are at the heart of the sporting community of Farnham.

This role serves not only our members but all visitors to the club which significantly exceeds those of our membership.

The Position Responsibilities
To manage the following non-playing activities on behalf the Club:

  • Management of the Bar; Catering and Clubhouse maintenance
  • Management of Events including commercial lettings, social and fundraising events; to include the two biggest annual events - Fireworks night (c2000 attendees) and the Sportsman’s Lunch (c400 guests).

  • Great Communication and Collaboration skills
  • Management of budgets with an understanding of sponsor funding.
  • Proven success in a similar environment
  • High level of professional conduct to act as a representative of the club (both internally and externally) that upholds the integrity of our reputation.
  • Building and nurturing strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Analytical and report-writing skills are a must with a high attention to detail.
  • Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure, multi-task and deal with competing priorities, delivering results to tight deadlines.
  • The ability to operate occasionally without direction and be a self-starter

  • This is not a 9 to 5 job, it’s a 40-hour week, sometimes more, but we will reward you for your success with a competitive salary and a performance bonus.

Experience and knowledge.
5+ years experience managing and leading teams within a sporting club, bar or catering facility.

Qualifications

  • Have a valid driving licence, own transport and appropriate insurance.
  • Hold a personal bar licence or be willing and able to obtain one prior commencing employment.
  • Undertake a DBS check and to take First Aid at Work training.
