It is with great sadness that we share the news that on Saturday 25th July, Peter Bewsey passed away.

Peter was a founding member of Farnham Rugby Club and he was central to the club's creation and its growth in its early years.

Peter was the clubs first ever 1st XV Captain in the 1975 -76 season and again in 1976-77. In that time Peter helped and inspired many young players who became the early lifeblood of the club that we are today.

Peter was a lifetime supporter of the club and in recent years, along with his wife Janet, attended virtually ever first XV game, home and away, and they were regulars at a variety of social events. It was with great pride that he watched Farnham play, and revelled in the fact that, some 50 odd years later, he was watching the club he helped build playing at a level he and his early team mates could only dream of.

Peter will be immensely missed by all that knew him and our heart felt condolences go to his wife Janet and their family for their loss.

Peter's funeral will be held at 12.45 on Friday 4th September at Guildford Crematorium, followed by the wake which will be held at the Rugby Club
