Waterfall Cup Win for the U15’s – Farnham 22 – 12 Guildford
A superb performance in the Proxime Waterfall Cup sees Farnham progress to the next round with three wins from three
Morning rugby was called off at Wilkinson Way on Sunday but the sun thawed the pitches nicely and we were all set for an afternoon kick-off. Playing with the bitter wind Farnham started well dominating the forward exchanges and soon Alfie McCormack was over in the corner for a well taken try.
More pressure on the Guildford line resulted in a second try for Ollie Wingfield which Finlay Anderson, judging the wind superbly, converted from the touchline. Before a magnificent rolling maul ended with scrum half Dylan Milner scoring a third try just before half time.
Farnham into the wind now continued to pressurise the Guildford defence with Mattie Hodson and Ben Cregeen combining well in the centre. Some concerted pressure on the Guildford line resulted in Lewis Hill scoring the 4th try against his old team.
Using the wind well Guildford scored two 2nd half tries but Farnham hung on for a well deserved 22-12 win.
Podium Points –
1) Mattie Hodson – fantastic in defence and distributed well all game
2) Kian Ashcroft – solid in the scrum, some great runs and big tackles
3) Alfie McCormack – great runs and a superb finish for the opening try
