B's lose out at Guildford
A much closer match than the score suggests
A cold and blustery start to February rugby got off to a good start for Farnham when Nathan went over for a try after 5 minutes.
Guildford fought back to 5-5, shortly after, following a fumble behind the line.
Before half time, Guildford took the lead 10-5 and then scored again to go in at half time with a 15-5 lead.
From the start of the second half, Farnham played really well, with great line outs and strong scrums. Their pressure led to Toby going over and then converting his own try, to catch up to 15-12.
The visitors (ie us!) continued to pile on the pressure and Toby scored again to take Farnham into a 15-17 lead with about 10 minutes of the match left.
Guildford made a couple of substitutions and stretched the Farnham defence before scoring under the posts and converting to regain the lead. With their heads up, Guildford finished the game off with another converted try to win the match 29-17.
While disappointing to lose, the Farnham boys should be proud of the way they played throughout the game. From the side line, coaches and parents had a good game of rugby to watch today!
