FARNHAM JUNIORS TAKE COUNTY HONOURS
In a season when the First XV has struggled manfully, the Mini/Junior section of the club has proved beyond doubt that rugby skills flourish at Farnham.
Last Sunday the Under 16 squad were confirmed as Surrey Champions on the day they won the Alton 7’s competition.
The Under 11’s were also crowned County Champions winning the annual Surrey Mini Rugby Festival. Click here for more information.
The Academy came a close second in their Surrey league Under 18 conceding the title by one point to Old Alleynians, a side allegedly filled with representative players. For a review of their season, click here.
FARNHAM 7's A GREAT SUCCESS
Farnham RFC staged a memorable Sevens Tournament at the club on Saturday 26 April, with nearly 350 players representing 28 teams taking part in a spectacular competition played in superb conditions.

After a very difficult season for the senior club on the playing front, this was a good way to end the season in style. Interested players who want to work on their fitness over the summer are reminded that the Peddle Club (bring your bike) takes place on Tuesdays from 7.15 p.m. at the club throughout May and June, and that pre-season training is scheduled to start on Tuesday 8th July.

Since the last AGM we have been looking closely at our organisation and how it should be modified for the future. Paul Dransfield, Richard Brackstone and Vince Wiltshire have spent many hours working on the club structure. Click here to read a summary of their output in PowerPoint.
This work established that to achieve our a "one club" philosophy we must give the club structure greater clarity and that this structure must encourage greater involvement/engagement with the membership. To this end the club rules have been amended to match the proposed organisational structure. Click here to read a copy of the proposed club rules. The main changes have been highlighted in blue.
These changes, proposed by P Dransfield and seconded by R Brackstone, will be put before the meeting to be ratified prior to the election of officers. Please note that this is still work in progress and it may take a year or two to get the right structure but at least we have started the journey.

Monkton Lane update
The date for the Public Inquiry into our proposed move to Monkton Lane has now been set and will take place over a six day period starting on June 3rd. The Inquiry itself will be held at Waverley's offices in Godalming.
Although the date seems a long way off it is the first date that all parties could commit to and as you will appreciate an awful lot of preparation is required prior to the Inquiry itself. This preparation is well underway and Stax, Waverely Borough Council and ourselves are working together in order to pull together the large amount of information and evidence required.
As indicated the Inquiry will last for six days following which the Inspector has a period of 8 weeks to make their recommendation to the Minister responsible, who then has a further 10-12 weeks before a decision is announced. So, one way or another we should know if we are moving by October of this year.
We will of course keep you up to date on any further progress, particularly as we get closer to the Inquiry date. In the meantime please keep your fingers crossed but most of all enjoy the rugby
