THE LONG HIKE TO TWICKENHAM – 6 FEBRUARY 2010

Well we made it!  The Club should be very pround of each and everyone who who set out from Andersons in East Street at 5.20am on Saturday last then trekked 33ish miles to Twickenham arriving at 4.15pm in time to watch the game in The Marriott Hotel.  In doing so, in addition to the blisters and sore joints, this small band of individuals dedicated to Farnham Rugby Club, has raised £10,000 towards our new ground development.  In addition to online donations and individual sponsorship money was donated by many of the supporters at Twickenham who had been listening to national and local radio and were aware of the "Hike".

You can still donate at   http://www.justgiving.com/Twickenham-Hike

The route can be viewed in detail at  http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-kingdom/farnham/674126392450513960

Calling all RUFC Members

The planning is approved, the plans near completion and the clock is ticking on the countdown to start work on the new club house and grounds on Monkton Lane.  There is much to be done, not least raising a sizeable sum of money.  The new ground pages on the web site have been updated with information about the new ground, how you can help and who to contact to volunteer your services.  Please take a look and anything you can do to help is very welcome.

Community service pays dividends for the Club - thanks to Goddards.

Goddards Nurseries of Crondall have completed the construction and planting out of a sensory garden at The Ridgeway Community School. The Ridgeway Community School is a co-educational establishment with 85 formula places. The school welcomes pupils between the ago of 2 and 19 years who have severe and/or profound multiple learning difficulties.
The Goddards team was ably supported by a group of FRUFC U14's (pictured below) who earned £500 for the club to help with its move to the new ground at Monkton Lane.
Well done all and many thanks!
