Farnham Vs Esher 30th March 2008 (Away) The excitement and anticipation of the last league match of the season was clearly demonstrated by the determination of both teams. Esher started the first half with a deep kick into Farnham territory which was closely followed up by Esher forcing Farnham back into their 22. Strong defending saw Farnham push Esher back into their half and a succession of strong drives saw ground won and conceded by both teams. Strong forward play by Farnham forced an Esher back into their 22 and a resulting scrum saw Farnham half back Josh Parkin break from the back of the scrum for a try. Esher responded quickly from the re start by pushing Farnham deep into their own territory. Esher backs linked well to quickly score and even the score at 5-5. The match ebbed and flowed until a Farnham infringement gave Esher a penalty in front of the posts which was duly converted giving Esher the advantage at 8:5. The second half was closely contested in a hard fought game with both sides making good ground only to concede the advantage and have to defend counter attacks. Both sides played well and the final score remained 8:5 in Esher’s favour.
