Introduction to the Academy

The FRUFC Academy combines the U17 and U18 age groups.  The squad is a "joint venture" between the Mini Junior Section and Senior Club to enable junior players to make the transition to senior rugby.

The Academy competes in the Surrey U18 League. The squad has a busy schedule of non-league games versus other mixed age-group developement teams throughout the season. See this season's fixtures below. 

In its first highly successful year (2006/7) the Academy was runner-up in the Surrey U18 championship losing out only by points difference.

The Academy welcomes any eligible young person who has the desire to play rugby and who wishes to develop the skills and the physical ability to do so.

Academy players are expected to take personal responsibility to be fit to play to good standard of rugby.  All Academy players are welcome to join the Senior training sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
