| Having suffered two defeats the lads were not going to give this one away easily. The intention was not to let any tries through and to make all the tackles count, yes back to basics. From the start the team was fired up and proceded to put the game plan into action. There was good defensive work and the rucks were cleared quickly. The mauls need some work but nonetheless we managed to retain the ball. Vandals made a few breaks but were quickly brought down. The first try went to Farnham, Alistair making it 7 with a good conversion. We dominated the scrums and sadly this led to Vandals being awarded a penalty right in front of the posts. Vandals took the opportunity to put points on the scoreboard making it 7–3. There were valiant attempts for further tries, Josh G. just being denied by Vandals knocking the ball from his grasp just within sight of the try line. The second half started the same as the first with no sign of let up, culminating in some spectacular run-away tries from within our own 22. One of the conversions was taken by a PROP which duly went over adding to our points. The Hooker now felt obliged to have a go but sadly failed. There were a few points that still need to be addressed but the team played well and earned themselves a long awaited victory. Steve breathed a sigh of relief and unlike another manager his place is assured. The final score 36-3
